Let’s start with the beginning- how did I even end up as a lotion/soap making, nalbinding, handsewing and axefighting Viking? Well, I always had a big interest in history, especially the Viking era, so when my youngest son asked me, if it was possible to attend markets as real vikings and not just as guests, I took the challenge up! At that time I was a 39 year old nurse and mother of three, who didn’t even managed to get my sewing machine license back in 5th grade, who never learned how to knit and for God’s sake never would attend a workout class! So I didn’t had big hopes, when I signed up for fighting with the Viking fighting group, Ihwar! Honestly I thought, I was way too old and would just make a fool out of myself - and who knows, maybe I did. But little did I know that joining the group would be a life changing event for me - something I will never regret! Fighting with those guys and be included to the Viking world has helped me find into the person that I truly am, and be proud of that - even though I’m far from perfect!
